A More Refined Ride: What Changes on the 2027 Polestar 4 Coupe

The 2027 Polestar 4 coupe arrives in Quebec with a sharper brief: keep the shape and the cabin, and fix how it feels on the road. The update is a refinement, not a redesign, and the changes land in the chassis and the naming.

Here is what moved, what stayed put, and what it means if you are weighing the Polestar 4 for daily driving in Quebec.

The Biggest Changes for 2027

The headline change is underneath. The Rear motor and Dual motor versions get a re-calibrated chassis with high-capacity passive dampers, new spring and anti-roll bar specifications, and polyurethane rebound stops that replace the internal rebound coil springs. Steering precision improves alongside it.

In plain terms, the car is tuned to stay flatter and more controlled over broken pavement, and the steering should feel more exact on turn-in. Electric power steering offers 3 modes, so you can set the weight to taste.

The second change is naming. The body is now officially the Polestar 4 coupe, and the lineup is three trim levels: Rear motor, Dual motor, and Dual motor with Performance Pack. The Performance Pack version shares the Dual motor powertrain and adds a chassis of its own: specially tuned active ZF dampers, stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, Polestar Engineered tuning, and Brembo brakes with Swedish gold 4-piston front callipers.

The third is a lower build footprint. Cradle-to-gate emissions for cars built in Busan, South Korea, are 19.8 t CO₂e for the Rear motor and 20.7 t for the Dual motor, down from 20.3 t and 21.3 t.

What Stayed the Same

The Polestar 4’s core package is untouched, and that is good news. The 100 kWh lithium-ion battery runs at 400 V. DC fast charging peaks at 200 kW, and a 10 to 80% charge takes 30 minutes. The 11 kW onboard charger fills the pack from 0 to 100% in 11 hours, which suits a home Level 2 setup overnight.

The shape is the same coupe-SUV silhouette: 4,840 mm long, 1,534 mm tall, on a 2,999 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is 166 mm front and 186 mm rear. Behind the rear seats you get 526 L, growing to 1,536 L with the seats folded, plus underfloor and front storage.

The no-rear-window design remains the signature. A rear-facing HD camera feeds an 8.9-inch digital rear-view mirror that switches between live camera feed and a regular mirror. That frees up interior space and lets you see past the headrests.

The cabin tech stays as well. A 15.4-inch centre display sits beside a 10.2-inch driver display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Google Assistant with Google Home integration are standard. Wi-Fi tethering, Bluetooth and 4G are on board, and over-the-air updates are complimentary for life.

The Pilot pack is standard. It brings Adaptive Cruise Control, Pilot Assist and Lane change assist. Eleven cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors back up a safety list that includes Blind Spot Information with steer assist, Cross Traffic Alert with brake support and 9 airbags.

What the Changes Mean for Buyers

If you want the calmest daily driver, the Rear motor makes the strongest case. It delivers the 499 km range and the lower 21.7 kWh/100 km consumption, and its 272 hp is plenty for highway merging. The chassis retune benefits it directly.

If you want speed with a margin, the Dual motor adds all-wheel drive, 544 hp and a 3.8 s sprint to 100 km/h. The trade-off is a 451 km range and 24.8 kWh/100 km consumption. Quebec highways reward the extra traction and passing power, and that gap in acceleration is the main reason to step up.

If driving feel is the priority, the Dual motor with Performance Pack is the one. It brings active dampers, Brembo brakes, 22-inch forged wheels on Pirelli P Zero summer tires, and a top speed of 200 km/h. It requires the Plus pack.

The Plus pack is the other decision. It adds 12-way front seats with leg extension, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel, 3-zone climate, a 14.7-inch head-up display, a 5.7-inch rear screen, and Harman Kardon sound with 12 speakers. Standard trims keep an 8-speaker audio system, heated front seats and 2-zone climate. The Nappa upgrade adds massage and ventilated front seats and a 16-speaker system.

Ownership terms are strong. The vehicle warranty runs 4 years or 80,000 km, the battery is covered for 8 years or 160,000 km, and corrosion coverage lasts 12 years. Roadside assistance is free for 4 years, and service is due at up to 2 years or 30,000 km. A heat pump and parking climate preconditioning help the cabin stay comfortable through Quebec’s cold mornings.
